Working on an Adventure

A community for the OSR, known by many names, but this community is just a place to hang your hat and chat all older games & their respective clones. From D&D to d6 Star Wars, it's all old school, so let's chat about it! We don't give you disclaimers or preach to you. Everyone can sit at the table and enjoy. Here Orcs have no feelings & are meant to be slaughtered for Gold, Glory and Fame! Have fun! Thanks!

Working on an Adventure

This is a subreddit for news and discussion of Old School Renaissance topics. We primarily focus on D&D (LBB, 1st ed. AD&D, etc.) and the retroclones. Other Old School games (Traveller, Runequest, Tunnels & Trolls, et al) are of course open for discussion. This is *not* a place to rant about how (your least favorite edition) sucks! In fact, I hope discussion arises about how later editions do things right, and how to incorporate them into OSR-styled games.

[Basic Fantasy](http://basicfantasy.org) is a pencil-and-paper RPG created by Chris Gonnerman using the d20 system. He says it's rules-light but we say it's rules-elegant. It captures most of the depth without getting in the way of high role playing adventure. Oh, did I mention that it is open source?

A Free Resource for Dark Sun

No law rules the blasted wastes of Athas, except the laws carved by blades or shaped by magic. Civilized realms suffer under the oppressive rule of sorcerer-kings. Will you rise up, with allies to guard your back and your water? Or will the scorched lands under the dying sun claim yet another band of fools?
