This literally was posted for a cat yesterday. It ended up being a huge black head. One way to for sure tell .. is squeeze it between something, it SHOULD be like a big firm cooked grain of rice or WAX bead. Like others have mentioned, if it was a botfly you would see something much more and it would be pretty relevant it was a living thing. Your dog will be fine just clean the wound with some saline water

That's what I'm thinking it is. It kind of looks like a clump of skin. It did bleed quite a bit but it's clean and already closed. The thing is pretty massive for what it seems to be, it's about the size of a roasted peanut. When I get a chance I'll take it to the vet
