why does every school have to do a different language im so done

I started at a new school a few days ago and this school only has malay as a language class, and taking language is mandatory for me till next year. my last school we had the choice between sign language or french and I chose to take both, I was actually interested in those though and I now spend my own time studying them aswell. the school I was at before taught german, and the school I was at before that, only taught mandarin. i know this is such a non issue but its just annoying having to study a language im not interested in. like is anyone else with me when i say language classes should be optional, because trying to keep up my average of a's and b's, in my malay class is going to kill me. ive already somehow accidentally mixed up french and malay on my first day of having homework for that class im so done
