Bad D or just plain unlucky?
Hardly a basketball analyst or even a super fan but something feels up with the warriors perimeter D. We're 7th in the league in defensive rating, but just from the past few games it feels like we're getting killed from the perimeter. Currently watching the Hawks game and Okongwu and Niang are getting an egregious number of plain open 3s. Same thing with the raptors game a couple days ago.
Comparing season 3P% vs 3P% against the warriors, our past few opponents have shot significantly better against us:
Hawks: 35% vs 40% (w 3min left in the game)
Raptors: 34.9% vs 42%
Bucks: 31% vs 36%
Nuggets: 32% vs 36%
knicks: 37% vs 37%
Kings: 35% vs 38%
going backwards, first team to shoot worse against us were the pistons
So what gives? did the hawks and raptors just get hot against us? are we in a slump? or do we have some hardcore defensive problems we need to sort out? (or maybe I deserved an F in my data science class who knows)
