Applying for ILR - 10 year long residency, over 548 days out the country
I'm applying for my ILR soon( 10 years long residency). I have been in the country continuously since June 2014 (actually longer, but I'm using that as my start date).
In that time I've done a BA, an MA, and recently a PhD. I have also been in a common-law marriage with a British citizen for many years. I think I fulfill every requirement - except I have been out of the country for 568 days, not 548 days. This absence period is due to a period in 2014. I have never been out the country for more than 180 days.
My period of residency is 5 August 2014 - 5 August 2024, and I have no idea if the 548 days still applies, due to the rule changes. Does anyone have any advice or interpretation of the guidance?
