Since the fan film Galvatron's Revenge was released earlier this year to mixed reactions, here's what I would do for a Transformers Prime sequel.

Transformers Prime: Insecticons Ascending

What is it —

A computer animated sci-fi/action animated series that is a direct sequel to Transformers Prime Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising, ignoring the entire 'Aligned Continuity' and instead acts as a true sequel to its predecessor while at the same time being its own distinctive spin-off.

PREMISE:

What the core concept of the series is is that taking place some time after the events of Predacons Rising, we follow Arcee as our main protagonist who is both taking part in and helping rebuild her home planet Cybertron now that the war's over with her finally having dealt with her past trauma and PTSD and is moving forward after the sacrifice of Optimus Prime, wanting to do the right thing and put everything she's been through behind her. But what she's about to learn the hard way is that her past is not yet through with her as Arcee is kidnapped and brought aboard a sinister ship both by an all-too familiar face who somehow managed to escape the moon she was left stranded on by Soundwave with all her insecticons and has successfully managed to control her transformation and infection as an Energon sucking vampire — Airachnid.

It's here on her brand new ship that matches her already twisted and sadistic personality now more than ever where Airachnid explains all to Arcee and it's not what the latter would have ever expected to hear from the former. Airachnid has somehow managed to extract half of Arcee's spark and is using it to control Arcee against her will if she steps out of line with the proposal being this - either she squeezes the spark in her bare hand and watches Arcee die right before her very eyes with the latter dying in a slow and painful yet meaningless way OR she and her team up with each other and become a bounty hunting duo on Earth, hunting down over hundreds of escaped criminals and monsters that made their way there after the war ended as Airachnid has become more than impressed with Arcee's incredible fighting skills, having defeated her more than once then when they've rounded up every last one, she'll give Arcee her spark back and free her from her grasp.

With no other choice, Arcee is forced to agree. Now in an otherworldly surreal moment, we have fierce enemies Arcee and Airachnid as partners piloting the same ship they're now forced to live on together. The rest of the series focuses on the two forming an incredibly unlikely almost buddy cop like duo as they return to Earth and hunting down numerous types of alien fugitives either dead or alive depending on the situation with Airachnid creating her new trophy collection from them, much to Arcee's disgust, all the while this builds more and more into an overarching and serialized story.

Now here's the real kicker of all this and it's that over the course of the show, Arcee and Airachnid prove to be a more than effective team with them overcoming the different odds that are thrown at both. They begin to form a mutual respect for each other especially Airachnid towards Arcee, it's right at this point Airachnid's backstory starts to slowly come to the surface and it's revealed that she had more of a close connection to Arcee than it appears much to the shock and horror of Arcee once Airachnid's previous identity is revealed by her TO her.

At the end of the first season, Airachnid changes her mind and decides to give Arcee back half of her spark, sparing her from her control. Accepting it at first and taking back said spark, things take yet another twist and turn when Arcee thinks long and hard after everything she's been through the entire season and the reveal of who Airachnid was before, she decides on her own to stay and continue with Airachnid to obtain the criminals. The final shot of the season is the two of them kissing.

Coming to grips with their newfound feelings for one another, the second and third seasons focus on them uncovering a larger conspiracy happening on Earth under their noses and feet and equally dangerous and deadlier enemies as Airachnid begins to face the consequences of her past horrible actions as a villain and must come to terms with her dark past as it too haunts her before it's too late in order to save Arcee.

NOTES/TRIVIA/DETAILS:

• Sumalee Montano and Gina Torres will reprise their roles as Arcee and Airachnid with the series tying up the last remaining loose ends of its predecessor years later.

• Only a few characters from the original series will appear with the most prominent being Soundwave who proves to be a more than valuable ally to the two.

• The series will establish that Transformers Prime, Predacons Rising and Insecticons Ascending all take place over the course of one year - 2010.

• There will be only a few human characters in the show with all of them being adults - Geno Segers, Troy Baker and Dean Winters will voice the three main ones.

&

• For fun, there will be a few easter eggs and references that establish a retroactive shared universe with other media. An example is that on a crime show a character is watching, the mysterious disappearance of Seth and Richard Gecko in the 90s are brought up with George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino's mugshots in live action shown.
