Schumer was right to prevent a shutdown

Everyone is hating on Schumer for not shutting down the government. As much as I dislike him, I have to admit that he did the right thing in this situation. Trump is tanking the economy as we speak. A shutdown would provide him with a way to blame democrats for his bad economy. The media coverage would be all about democrats shutting the government down instead of the unpopular things that Trump and Elon are doing.

The shutdown would give him legal authority to close entire government agencies at his own discretion and not reopen them. None of us should be rooting for that.
