Are Swiggy’s ratings RIGGED? Have a look at this
How is a food item with only 4 ratings showing a 4.9-star rating on Swiggy?
If 4 people rated it, the overall rating can only be in steps like 5.00, 4.75(rounded to 4.8), or lower, because the scores are averaged in multiples of 0.25. So, 4.9 isn’t even possible with just 4 ratings!
Are these numbers being heavily adjusted to boost items, and if so, what’s really going on with Swiggy’s rating system?
What’s the point of trusting ratings if they don’t add up?
edit: People have to order the item to rate it in the first place, so ratings can’t be boosted by botting. That makes this allegedly weighted system pointless!
Also, ratings on Swiggy are almost always higher than on Zomato. While this isn’t solid proof of rigging, it definitely raises questions about how these ratings are calculated.
And here’s the real kicker- higher ratings make people more likely to order an item. If Swiggy is tweaking ratings to make food look better than it actually is, that’s not just shady, it’s straight up anti-consumer. manipulating ratings like this would mean Swiggy isn’t just misleading us; but steering our choices.
