Rescue from walmart?

I've been wanting a bears paw and I think I found one? He's in bad shape but I hope i can help it. Should I immediately water him or repot then water? If I "repot" I would just take the dirt out of the pot it's in and put in the mix I made ( 1:1:1 black gold succulent l, perlite, and chicken grit) I have a light coming in Monday. What should in do?
