Integrity is a non-negotiable at the Strata Owners Alliance. We are excited about sharing truly independent strata advice and tips amongst owners free from kickbacks, collusion, inappropriate relationships or any other form of conflicts of interest. Integrity is a non negotiable around here.
On that note - a reminder to all. If you want to make a recommendation it has to be one you are genuinely free from any conflict and must be based on your personal experience. If you work in the industry, sorry but no recommendations. As we have seen, there are just too many relationships that create a perceived or actual conflict and one only needs to look at LinkedIn amongst strata industry players to see the amount of sycophantic back slapping of each other that goes on in the industry echo chamber. If the admins smell as much as the possibility of a conflict or self interest, it will be moderated.
Just remember every time you see an organisation claiming to be for advocacy with fancy titles and paid personnel... Ultimately that money is coming from the pockets of all you owners out there. Indirectly being provided by the industry players who want exposure and charge you services, or "industry memberships".
The independence Strata Owners Alliance enjoys is unique in the industry and we are the only group/organisation that has achieved charity status for that very reason in this space and we take the fact that people can come here for fearless and independent information as to utmost principle. We are in a battle with the industry against these inappropriate relationships often dressed up as "sponsorships" which means a number of organisations claiming to be for owners have shared questionable advice. (As a tip - anywhere you get advice go and have a look for these sponsorships or other forms of bullshit collusion - they are everywhere you look for advice online).
Industry players - you are welcome but don't even think for a second this is a place you can drum up business.
This is a non negotiable for us and we will not be following that path. Owners need a trusted independent source where they can be sure the information they are getting is free of any form of financial relationship or otherwise that is motivating the information they are receiving.
