Tibial sesamoid removed 12/20

Hello! I had a 1st mtp fusion and removal of my tibial sesamoid four weeks ago. I’ve been weight bearing in a post-op shoe since day one, and I find myself walking on the side of my foot or heel. My foot is tender where the sesamoid was. Is that normal? I have a feeling I need to be more patient. Is anyone in a similar situation?
