Which Itinerary for first Solo Cruise

Hi all. Just like the title says, I'm looking to do my first solo cruise and not sure which cruise to take. I've taken two Canada cruises before but that was before they removed Bar Harbor from itineraries. I've been to Portland, Maine and wasn't too impressed with things to do. Price difference is 200 dollars for the most part. Timing as you see is different, either early or late October. Is Portland and bigger boat worth the price? Or is it more worth is to go later to ensure fall foliage but on a smaller ship?
