Why is the Dodge Journey so hated?

I know the internet loves Honda/Toyota/Mazda and tends to take exception to brands that aren't those, but brand loyalty aside, what's the deal? It's not the best car in the world, but nothing about it really sticks out to me as overtly terrible. Typical fuel efficiency, reasonably good-looking, etc. It's average, and that's fine. What am I missing? Transmission? Would love to hear thoughts on this.
