Student Loan Question
Hello all.
I had a number of student loans through Ed Financial from 2013-2019. They were transferred to Nelnet/Dept. of Ed, then on deferment until September 2023, and then paid in full on September 16th 2023.
I have a letter and account summary both from EdFinancial and Nelnet indicating that the loans have been paid in full, and showing $0.00 balances.
I have filed no less than three disputes with Experian and the credit bureau to have the loans removed from my credit report. I provide documentation from both providers every time. Literally, the very day that deferment was lifted in the United States following the temporary freeze, they were paid in full. But they are still showing up on my credit report.
I have filed a dispute no less than three times, and each time they say that there is not sufficient evidence to remove them from my credit report.
I want to get on with my life. My husband and I are trying to qualify for a mortgage and they are lingering on my credit report to the tune of $28,000+.
What can I do here? I'm not waiting ten years for them to drop off.
