How do you guys feel about seeing quotes from other films or shows in fanfiction?

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this.

Below are two scenes from the story I am writing that is an example of what I am talking about.

Please ignore any missing text and somewhat blocky structure. Nothing is finalized yet and this is mainly just notes from my brainstorming.

“Hey, do you guys hear that?”

Brock nodded. “Yeah. It sounds like… screaming.”

At the top of a small hill, a trainer came barreling down the path.

“Ash!” They shouted with joy. May was going to run over and greet him but the raven haired trainer started waving his hands frantically.

“Run!”

The three were confused. “What?”

Their eyes widened as a swarm of Beedrill crested the hill behind him.

Dawn gulped. “Time to go.”

“Alright, you know the plan.”

…

“Uh, guys…” Bonnie said.

“What?” Clemont responded.

“He jumped.”

The three’s eyes snapped up.

“He JUMPED?!”

May, Serena, and Clemont ran to the _____

Noivern swooped down and caught him.

May smiled slightly but it did not reach her eyes. In fact, one of them twitched.

“I’ll kill him.” She mumbled.

Serena only shook her head in disbelief at Ash’s antics.
