Josh Allen is the only starting quarterback to lose a playoff game to the Mahomes led Chiefs more than once
Here are the quarterbacks Mahomes has faced off against in the playoffs, and their records against him:
Brady 2-0
Burrow 1-1
Hurts 1-1
Luck 0-1
Watson 0-1
Tannehill 0-1
Garoppolo 0-1
Mayfield 0-1
Roethlisberger 0-1
Lawrence 0-1
Tagovailoa 0-1
Jackson 0-1
Purdy 0-1
Stroud 0-1
Allen 0-4
Here are a few observations:
It's remarkable that in 21 total playoff games, Mahomes has faced off against 15 different starting QB's.
Despite playing the 49ers and Texans twice, the starting QB was different for both teams during the second matchup.
Josh Allen has led the Bills to the playoffs six times in seven seasons. The fact that two thirds of all of his playoff runs have been ended by the same team is simultaneously very sad and funny.
Mahomes has played and beaten all four teams in the AFC South and North in the playoffs, but he hasn't seen any of his divisional rivals (I know that the rest of the AFC West hasn't been great, but all three teams have made the playoffs since Mahomes has been a starter).
I'm no Bills fan, but I feel bad for Josh Allen and I hope he can get over the hump. Hopefully some of you find this interesting, but if not, oh well.
