Why didn't Christof in the Truman show omit some details about reality from Truman's childhood?

So in the Truman show we see that Truman is naturally drawn to the outside world because he wants to not only explore the world around him and travel, but also because he wants to be with Sylvia, the issue I have or rather a question is that, assuming Christof has complete and utter control over what Truman is being taught in school at a young age, why didn't he partially indoctrinate him to suppress his curiosity? He has control over every single person around him... It should be easy to give his role models a little nudge to discourage him from exploring life outside his town. Or at least limit the idea of adventure or curiosity in his town. No fantasy novels?

Or did Christof know that if he didn't tell Truman everything he would be criticized by viewers who say his show isn't completely authentic?

Idk lol this movie is strange...
