Anyone else's med school have a "meets with concerns" pass?

Throwaway bc I'm not trying to dox myself.

At my school, we're technically pass/fail, but there is an internal ranking. If you pass but are in the bottom ~something % of those who pass, you will get a "Meets with concerns". The dean never clarified if this goes into the Dean's letter or if it's just an internal thing 🙃 Is this normal? I feel like when I was applying to med schools, no one ever brought this up.
