Eye herpes? Shingles? Pinkeye? What is this?

I’m a 22-year-old female, and I’ve been experiencing these eye flare-ups in my right eye since I was about 6 years old. When I was younger, I would get them all the time. My doctor used to say it was a sty, then claimed it was a staph infection. I had to get my eye drained, and it would take weeks to recover. As a child and adolescent, I’d get one every 2-4 months. Now, as an adult, I only experience them about twice a year. About three years ago, a doctor in residency suggested it might be a viral infection, possibly herpes. Later, I brought this up to my primary care doctor and an ophthalmologist, but they both dismissed it—saying it was either pink eye or, “I’d test you for something else before considering herpes in your eye.” Despite being tested and being positive for HVS-1 though blood testing about 2 years ago. Currently, I’m dealing with an outbreak, and it’s painful. I have a headache on the left side of my face, burning and itching in my eye, twitching, a swollen neck, and I feel completely exhausted. I went to urgent care, and the doctor prescribed me valacyclovir (1g, 3x daily for 7 days) but brushed off my concerns and pain. Does anyone have any insights or opinions about what this could be or ways to improve my current situation? I just want answers and to feel like someone actually cares and wants to help. I’m really afraid I’ll lose my eyesight if this keeps happening.
