UPDATE: “First time shooter. I did NOT enjoy it. Does this ever change and/or can anyone relate?”
TLDR: Visited the range a second time. I absolutely enjoyed it and left with my first handgun (HK VP9 Tactical). I want to shoot more haha.

Howdy! You all (mostly 😅) had some fantastic advice for a newbie shooter that did NOT enjoy their first time at the range. After a second visit, I totally get it. Much, much more enjoyable experience. Knowing what to expect physically, aurally, and in terms of adrenaline (of which there was much less) was a game changer.
There were a lot of comments recommending a .22 and an outdoor range, both of which I still need to try and absolutely will.
Thanks again for all the wonderful insights! Incredibly helpful.
