Sam disappeared during reckoning quest? [KCD2]

During the quest reckoning and you're supposed to save Sam from being tortured in the barn and then carry him to the horses and get away. I put Sam in a specific spot so that I could take out some more guards by the stables but I had to turn my game off due to irl. When I came back he was not only not in the spot where I set him but he's not in the original spot where he was being tortured either. Any help???
