85" U8N -> 75/77" Upgrade?
Reposted from this AM to add:
- baby gate wont really work around the whole area as the baby gate would then end up blocking bottom of TV. As of right now, the top of TV is at like 9ft tall. Our couch is somewhat low, nothing crazy, and we don't plan to have it too far back from the wall. We have to fit a dining room table in to the left of where I am standing in this pic, so I really think we are too big at 85", baby gate or no. Also, wife would hate that idea from a aesthetic stand point. We are looking to have an ultra sleek, childproof set up, designed mostly for entertaining, but as a TV/tech guy, something I can still sit down and enjoy HDR content on (Arcane really shines on the U8N so far).'
- Also, are the QD-OLEDs and other Samsung offerings just hype and not really great in the details?

TLDR: What 75 or 77" TV(s) that will be available between now and May in the $1700 - $2200 (ish) range would you buy to replace this 85" Hisense U8N and why? 2024 or 2025 models depending on deal and comparable specs.
Hi (new to me) friends 👋
Just moved into our new home. From a single living room set up to a house with an upstairs loft (can be very dark) and a big downstairs open concept (it's a long room, not wide if that makes sense). We decided our 65" C1 would go upstairs.
So decided to splurge on a TV on super bowl Sunday (good prices) and brought home the Hisence 85" U8N (pictured below, pardon the mess) to downstairs. Welp, it's amazing but we think it a bit too big/tall. We have a 16 month old and it will be too hard to keep his hands off if we lowered it at all.
The hisense has a 60 say return period. We spent $1699 + tax on it.
Bonus round! Knowing all the above, toddler especially, what would you do for an audio solution? I already own a Sony 7.1 receiver (STRZA810ES) but nothing else. Let's say $500-$1000 but if you really sell me I could maybe do $1500.
If design matters, wife is going for mid century modern.
Thanks so much for any insight and expertise you are willing to share!
