Aspinal of London Lottie - day one review
The bag I got on sale came today and I was able to take her for a spin! She came with me on the bus, McDonald's and a department store where I pawed at other bags!! A full day of walking around and in and out for my wallet.
This is the soft taupe regular size lottie. Because of the depth it's surprisingly roomy! I didn't have to make any sacrifices on what I wanted to take out with me.
I love the colour, it's more pinky beige, some taupes are a bit more grey. The leather is lovely. I don't have much to compare it too but I'd say it's more supple than my coach pebbled leather. The bag has an excellent squish to it despite being boxy.
I love the silver hardware. The clasp is pleasing to use and you can do it one handed.
I love the chain, I've never had a chain strap before and it made me feel fancy even though I am very casual. It didn't hurt my shoulder though I imagine with maybe a thin strapped top it would get annoying but that's true of most straps.
The strap is a great length for tall people, I'm 5'11 and curvy and it hit at the hip. I imagine more petite people could find this too long crossbody but it was a delight for me. I like that it can convert to shoulder but I don't think that's as flattering on my body type.
My only complaint is that when the bag isn't full, there's a tiny curve in the base, I don't think this is a defect, I think it's the weight of the upper bag not being pressed by anything and its quite soft leather.. You can see it in the second picture. I've not owned a bag like this before so I don't know if that's normal or it's a flaw in the design that they needed a harder base?
Overall I am delighted with my purchase. I would seriously consider buying this in other colours or styles.
That's a big long waffle but hopefully will help someone out who is considering this bag. I did so much searching for specific bags when I joined this sub!
