Am a muslim living in Germany
I’m a moderate muslim living in Germany and it’s my first Ramadan here. It’s hard enough without my family plus fasting is so hard in Germany because no body understands how exhausting it can be to not drink or eat food for long periods of time.
I work also, however they put my schedule everytime in the time am supposed to break my fast which is around 18:30 and i can’t take a pause to eat or drink and i complained about this and the manager simply said “ Here in Germany days in Ramadan are normal day” which i do understand but why shouldn’t they just respect my religious obligations and put me for example morning shifts.
Is it normal to be treated like that at work for your religious beliefs?
Am not accusing anyone i just want to understand a little bit more. Because am mentally and physically exhausted everyday and at work they don’t get how exhausting it can be.
Any information would be appreciated.
Thank you
