pure terror and guilt
my little bandit boy (5 mths) ate a sock. he is a sock bandit. he is dobby.
shame me. i deserve it.
i actually did not know he swallowed a sock until he threw up said sock. followed by multiple different throw ups. my poor boy was so tired, not eating, but was drinking plenty of water.
a vet trip and $650 out of pocket later and they had very little advice/info to offer. they took xrays (said he was a very good boy) and said there was a small area of concern that COULD be another blockage. and lots of gas. they followed up with some medicine to move things along, another xray to see if they were, but altimately they had very little to offer :/ they jumped between infection, blockage, disruption within minutes and i am left feeling terrible. i was told to take him home, monitor him, and if any weird symptoms continue to take him to the emergency vet. it all felt very “its friday” rushed in my opinion. i feel so terrible.
i gave him rice, chicken and some pumpkin as recommended by the vet. he has perked up immensely and ate most of his food - no more vomiting.
does anyone have advice?
does anyone experienced in the vet field want to see his xrays and maybe give an opinion?
