when to start T

How long did you guys wait to start T after coming out? I have been out to friends for about 2 years and came out to my family last week. I don’t want to overwhelm them with changing my name and starting T so soon but I don’t want to wait much longer. For context, I’m 18 and my mom told me when I came out that she acknowledges that I’m an adult and can “do what I want,” so getting permission isn’t really a problem.
