NA with spice and a good plot?

Lately I feel like I've been reading the same books in a different font for a while, the thing that bothers me the most is that I get the feeling that the spice overtakes the plot in a way where every character is kind of revolving around their sexual impulses constantly. In most of the books there's also body betrayal and all of these "he's wrong for me but I don't know why I'm obsessed with him" and "he's the villain but he's also gorgeous to look at, I don't know why my body responds to him" type of discourse. I stopped reading YA because for some reason, spice became a non-negotiable for me, and also I don't know that I want to read stories about teenagers anymore. But recently I've been drawn back into vanilla books since I feel like because there is no sex they really are forced to develop the bond between characters and it's so much more complex and deep than most of the other stuff I've read.

Having said that I want to believe that there are actual romantic fantasy books where the plot is powerful enough and the spice is just an organic consequence of the developing feelings between the characters. I'm totally open to a multiple book saga where the spice happens in later books or something like that, I'm honestly so over sex in every page. Like, it's chapter one and she already has a throbbing between her legs or something is pooling in her lower stomach, I'm so over it.

EDIT: I just realized what I'm describing is essentially slow burn, but I don't just mean a slow burn where it takes them a long time to finally do it but they've been thinking about it since page 1. I mean a slow burn where feelings develop slowly and sex is a consequence of it as opposed to just the first thing that pops into their head. I need something more plot heavy.

Do any of you guys have any recs?
