Weird question about home chargers
I'm moving into a house which has a EV charger, because the current owner has an EV. We have two cars, both are ICE. We are not planning to change our current vehicles untill they are "done", so to speak. My country will ban sales of non electric vehicles in 2035, which is probably when we will "change" our vehicles as they'll be pretty old and high KM usage by then. So the electric charging port is handy to have.
However...in the meantime, what should we do with the port? They don't seem very secure, seems like anyone could theoretically charge their car using it ? Is there a way to turn them off if you have a port, but don't use it ? The charger is located to the rear of the property, adjacent to on street parking.
