Canadians business owners wanting to set up a branch in USA

My husband and I are both Canadian born and co-own a successful manufacturing business together in Canada. We want to set up a branch in the USA. Do we go the E2 visa route? I don’t know if this info matters but I’ll include that my husband’s Grandma and Mom are American born and have their American citizenships. My husband did live in the states for a couple years and did go to elementary school there. Just wondering what path to take to get our branch set up on US soil.
