Best travel setup for Macbook + ext. Monitor?

Hey all,

I've been looking for the best solution for a home office setup away from home (co-working spaces etc.). I use my Macbook Air to type but want an external monitor above my Macbook display for extra screen area.

I've found various ext. monitors that can be powered via the Macbook, which is great. Where I am struggling is to find a good setup to lift the monitor above my Macbook screen to have it at head height to not ruin my neck in the long run. There are a few stands I saw on Amazon but they either don't have enough lift, or are not travel-friendly.

What do you guys use or suggest? I have tried the traditional route: Putting my Macbook Air on a stand and connecting an external keyboard and mouse. Did not work out. I love the traditional setup with keyboard and trackpad in one piece.
