Weekly Update of the Devils Pain Meter

Score: 4 - A lot of people last week were saying I’m negative with these posts. So I want to explain my reasoning a bit more to better understand why I choose the numbers each week.

• The first and most important factor that goes into my posts are expectations at the beginning vs reality. This is where, in my opinion, the Devils lack behind the most. They are supposed to be Stanley Cup contenders and right now are just showing they are a playoff team. I understand they were much worse a couple years ago, but this year was supposed to be the year a lot of problems got fixed. They aren’t bad, just not as good as expected.

•The second factor is week to week play. Last week, they were 1-1. Which is meh. Vegas is a great team, but a playoff team should be achieving above .500.

•Third and final factor is future. Such as injuries, contracts, and remaining schedule. Right now, injuries on 2 of the top 5 players on the team isn’t great. But they aren’t permanent thankfully. But it still has a pain factor associated with it.

Thank you for listening to my Ted Talk.
