So this happened today... as i almost fainted in public.
So something happened to me today, and since it’s Women’s Day, I felt like sharing.
I went out today to get some work done. When I got there, I saw a huge queue but stepped in and waited for my turn. A few minutes later, I suddenly started feeling weird- dizzy, lightheaded and then my vision became blurry. I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. I panicked thinking, What if I faint? I’m here alone. What do I do? What is going to happen to me?
I turned to the lady behind me and asked if she could save my spot. She sweetly said, “ yes ofc” I stepped out of the line and sat down on the ground, wobbling. That’s when another woman next to me gently held my hand and asked, Are you okay? She then told her husband to get me some water. he then returned with a bottle of water and a biscuit after sometime (which i really appreciate). Meanwhile, she just kept holding my hand reassuringly.
After a few minutes, I started feeling better and thanked her. I even tried to return the money for the water, but she firmly refused, saying that I reminded her of her daughter. At that moment, another girl came up and offered to stand in line for me, but I politely declined.
When I stood up and got back in line, the woman who had saved my spot and another lady asked if I was okay. I was still a little dizzy, so I sat down again for a while, got my token, finished my work, and eventually made it home feeling much better.
This has never happened to me before, and being alone in that moment was scary. But the way these women just showed up, without hesitation, without expectation, made me feel safe. Their kindness, their care, their presence meant everything.
Today reminded me how incredible women are. We hold each other up, even in the smallest ways, even for strangers. And for that, I’m so grateful.
Happy Women’s Day to all the amazing women out there ❤️.
