My first big yarn mistake... a cautionary tale

I am making a cardigan for my 5 year old daughter, and am onto the last 10 or so rows of the sleeve. My first skein ran out and the last 3 rows in the picture have been a new skein. It's the same yarn and color - caron simply soft in strawberry - but the first skein dye lot was 2023, and the new (for these last 3 rows) is from 2024. I can tell the yarn feels lighter and more silky, smooth, shiny? My husband says no one will notice. Please tell me he's right!

The new skein will be about 10 rows on the sleeve, and the ribbing (around the neck, bottom, front open, and sleeve cuffs)

I will now and forever check yarn dye lots before purchasing. They can look exactly the same in the ball, and feel, work, and look totally different on the hook.
