I had a high dose iron infusion without saline after. Been debilitated since then.
1000 mg of iron infusion - did not want to do it because I am highly sensitive to meds and I did not pass the pre-test. They said it was just anxiety and the doctors insisted it would help me. It took me almost 5 hours to finish just the iron. I was so worn out and it was midnight-ish. So I asked the nurse if I had to do the saline—she said no. I got sick immediately after leaving there, gums bleeding, all the potential side effects. Within a few days, I was unable to walk properly—barely at all— and would wake up unable to life my chest or feel my hands.
My long covid was very mild compared to what I am living with today post infusion. It completely destroyed my healthy and LC baseline.
I’m wondering if the saline had something to do it with the lasting physical damage? I mean my body rejected the iron during the pre-test so they should not have pushed me to continue. I was very tired, scared, and vulnerable.
I’m living a nightmare now of new debilitating symptoms I never had prior. I am completely devastated and have severe PTSD from this experience. 5 months post infusion.
