Is getting a BS in Computer Science at a community collage a bad idea?
I recently started attending my local community college, and they have two options for their Comp Sci degrees that I'm trying to decide on. I can either go with an associate's in computer science with a direct transfer agreement, or I can get an associate's in computer science on a software development track and then get my BS in computer science at the community college. Where I'm stuck is that with their standard associate's in computer science, there is only one programming class before I graduate and transfer, which I fear will make it harder for me to create projects and get internships. However, I can easily transfer to a 4-year college or continue at the community college and get my bachelor's.
With their associate's in computer science software development track, there is less emphasis on calculus and physics, with tons of programming and development classes, therefore making it easier for me to start on projects for internships. However, this track doesn't have a direct transfer agreement, so I'd be stuck getting my bachelor's at the community college.
I should add that this community college is one of the top 10 CC's in the nation and it's regionally accredited. Any advice would be helpful!
