Help! How to clean and store the poop diapers before washing

Hi! We’re just starting to explore some hand-me-down reusables, and also starting to eat a little bit of solid food. Little guy is 5mos. Unfortunate timing, but here we are.

His poops are really messy. Not the “just flick it in the toilet” kind. What do y’all recommend in terms of cleaning and storing dirties before washing? I tried using a peri bottle to spray clean, but ended up just having to dunk the diaper in the toilet to get it all. And then I threw it in a bucket for the moment while I sort this out.

We have a tiny bathroom, but could hang a wet bag in there I think. We have a front-load washer so not ideal to store in there pre-wash.
