Hate that there are no birth control options

Anyone else feel extremely frustrated by the lack of birth control options?

I’m nearing the age where my doctor says I should come of hormonal birth control.

I won’t ever choose to have surgery. It’s a no for me.

My partner is considering surgery. If that’s what we go with, there’s a wait list (Canada) that will put us well past the time I have to come off of birth control.

It feels so frustrating that there are no real viable options for non hormonal birth control except condoms or a surgery.

Edit:

I do know about the copper iud. That really feels like not a choice either. Insertion and removal would be very painful and they can come out or perforate the uterus

I’m hoping for some commiseration from anyone who feels the same. I don’t want kids but I also don’t want surgery. And I want to listen to my doctor about it being time to come off the pill. I’m stuck between a hard place and a rock. And am not thrilled about using condoms for the foreseeable future

Also I think my point stands if I was someone who was opposed to taking hormones alltogether. I’ve been super lucky for all the years I’ve been on the pill to not have issues with it

I do know what options are available and also which options I won’t choose. Please no advice on possible birth control methods. Was just looking to vent with other childfree people
