Anybody else is kind of annoyed how both Castlevania series went with the whole "Last of his clan" trope?

It was already weird to me with Trevor as I'm mostly a Castlevania game fan. His family being excommunicated and killed of until he was the only one left was overkill and then we have Richter where it's like only him, his mother and grandpa. Where is the father or any other siblings?

I get that the series takes huge liberties with the adaptation but the Belmont's being killed of was never a part of the franchise. Heck there was a whole village filled with clan members and two branch families, the Morris and Belnandes.

I don't know, the fact that they dropped the whole Mathias and Leon plot line seams like they are trying other ways to make the Belmont's feel special.
