Looking for thoughts on this 9800X3D/4080S build, and maybe some Mobo/PSU advice
Let me preface this by saying I already have the CPU/GPU (I was not looking to buy them for $300+ over MSRP). I'm looking at the surrounding components, and it has been 5+ years since I last built a computer. Mostly looking for gaming and 3D modeling, and maybe eventually some streaming.
This ASrock Mobo (Riptide Wifi) is the one that I want, but it is currently out of stock, and only available for resale markup so I'm looking at other options. I had kind of settled on that being one of the better reasonably priced boards and fitting what I needed from this cycle so I'm looking for opinions on that. Definitely want to run one PCIE 5.0 M.2, but might go with older gen for additional storage so multiple slots aren't important.
I haven't picked a PSU yet, simply because I want to make sure what I get is actually viable for my needs. I'm thinking 750-1000W, but I saw a few reviews that people had to do weird cable things with their PSU to power the 4080S, and I wasn't sure exactly what I would need for that, plus all the accessories.
I also know that corsair sells a sensor/RGB control unit. I honestly can't tell if it is necessary or why people use it, so I was hoping for some illumination on that.
Anyways, any opinions or advice would be appreciated.
