2025 Summer Box Office Predictions (WW)

  1. Lilo & Stitch - $1.1B Disney live action remakes have been hit or miss. Looks like the miss this year will be Snow White while the hit will be Lilo & Stitch. Trailer seemed to nail everything it needs to nail. I think this will be the four quadrant film of the summer that wins.

  2. Jurassic World Rebirth - $900M 4/6 Jurassic films are billion dollar hits. The World trilogy has declined with each entry, I assume this one will have a slight decline from Dominion. With great reception I can see this hitting $1B+.

  3. Superman - $750M Seems to have everything going for it right now. Could break out. But there is also the DC fans on the internet vs. DC fans in theater thing. Seems like Gunn is going all in on the fanboy appeal, not sure if that will translate to GA. We'll see but I think the other 2 are safer bets.

  4. Fantastic Four: First Steps - $650M Has good hype among Marvel fans, but I'm not sure if this will breakout.

  5. MI: Final Reckoning - $600M I think this franchise has a ceiling that was hit with Fallout. If it’s marketing well as the finale it could get a boost but I don't see much more than DR.

  6. HTTYD - $575M Shot by shot remake. People will see it. Doesn't have the nostalgia pull that Lilo & Stitch has though.

  7. F1 - $375M Sounds like it'll be a cool movie. Doubt it'll be profitable if the $300M rumors are true.

  8. Thunderbolts - $350M Movie filled with sidekicks and Disney plus characters. Trailers made it seem like any other MCU film. I don't see the draw with this one.

  9. The Bad Guys 2 - $300M Should have a sequel boost but I don't think it'll be anything too huge.

  10. Elio - $250M Original animation and sci-fi animation is a hard sell. Especially in 2025. This needs Elemental WOM to break even. I don't think that's happening sadly.

  11. John Wick: Ballerina - $200M Spin-off to a franchise that peaked in the 400M range, I would say 200M may be generous.

Just realized I did a top 11 instead of top 10. I'm sure i'm missing some blockbusters here too. What would be your picks for this summer?
