It astounds me how many people fail to understand that strength ≠ health
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing to get after it and try to push your limits. But I am saying you need to realize that being healthy and being strong are different.
I know so many dudes who are super strong but have life-long issues because they refused to listen to their body and take a break. Their spine’s fucked, or the cartilage in their joints is gone, or they tore a muscle and didn’t let it heal.
I’m not the strongest guy I know, but I score respectably on the ACFT and I’m healthy. My body is in good shape and I don’t have long-term issues.
Why are our priorities so fucked when it comes to fitness?
