AirPlay is terrible

I have used AirPlay for like a year now and it have to be the most inconsistent piece of technology I have ever used sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. It always works with screen mirroring but as soon as I click on a video, it just shows down and starts working. There is nothing wrong with my network I’m connected to it with the same device. But I don’t know what the problem is. It worked earlier today. now it doesn’t wanna work. if anybody got advice on how to fix it please
