Game more difficult? (PS5)

Now let me start off by saying I am a very average (maybe even below average) player. But is it just me or does the game feel more harder than about a year ago (which is when I last played). I don't know if controller has been nerfed or changed since then but I'm finding it a lot harder now to aim and get kills. Again, not a good player but I felt like i was at least decent about a year ago
