First time Zwifter (and not cycled in 20 years..!) - please send tips!

I should mention that the Wahoo Kickr Core arrived late to the party and so didn’t make the cut for this photo - but I have one.

Hello everyone!

First time using Zwift (and first time on a bike for almost 20 years). I’ve just completed my first ride - the Beach Island Loop. I feel like a TOTAL noob both for Zwift and cycling in general, so if anyone has any tips for either - I’d be super grateful if you could let me know.

For Zwift - I’ve seen that the social aspect from group rides (and then racing) is the way to go. How do I get into group riding? So far I can see the various routes I can cycle but I’m not sure how to join others on a group ride (or stick with other riders who are my pace). Any other beginner tips?

For cycling - is there a cadence or speed I should try and stick to? My first ride was around 65-70 rpm. I also kinda felt almost ‘stuck’ sat down in my saddle, it took so much energy to try and stand up and cycle.

As for the Zwift Ride frame: first impressions are really good. I was going to buy an outdoor bike but I thought this thing is a great option for indoor-only use: its profile is pretty small, it looks good, it’s not all grubby, my partner can use it, and it’s easy to detach from the trainer if I need to chuck it somewhere if I have guests staying. If anyone has any questions about it generally, feel free to send me a DM.

Thanks all!
