Have been test driving other EVs out of curiosity.
Mach E was lightning fast, but interior was loud. Plus we didn’t love the price.
Subaru Solterra/Bz4x. My wife and I are both quite tall and didn’t quite fit.
Ioniq 5 was legit pretty good and probably came the closest to being a consideration but, like the Subaru, found the cabin too small. Also, the trim models, at least where we are, are super expensive and start too near Mustang territory.
Tesla M3 (not a test drive admittedly, friend just has one and have been in it a few times). No CarPlay. Dealbreaker for us. Yes there are other options that do similar things but in our case I am in our car a few hours per day and I want a specific experience that CarPlay provides.
Above all, not one of these rides as comfortably as the ID4. Yes it has its bugs, but I’ve been reading the other forums and it sounds like they all do. Maybe this is a dealer specific thing but ours have mostly been worked out apart from the occasional window weirdness (knock on wood). Our dealer has also been super responsive in getting us in and out for recalls/maintenance so maybe that has tipped the balance a bit. But. For real. Ride comfiness. This thing cannot be beat in that regard. Anyway. That’s all.
Edit: typos, and forgot to mention, though, that would actually be happy to own any of these cars. They all had their ups and downs and definitely have loved owning an EV (now over two years in - in Canada, in the cold winters, with long road trips) enough that I’d happily take any of these to stay in an EV if they were each our only option.
