VHS-C to VHS Adapter for Digital Conversion

Title says it all, I'm usually do VHS digitizations using a capture card through a couple VCRs I have, but recently had a big order for almost a 100 VHS-C tapes. I haven't used adapters until now, and purchased the motorized Hitech Sona Adapter Unit but immediately had issues with drag or the adapter almost eating tapes.

I'm wondering if the unit simply has issues with multiple brands of tapes, since I'm converting Maxwell, Scotch, TDK, and the odd JVC. I know its the adapter having some issues since I've tried capture in multiple VCR units, and have run into similar issues or a VCR turning off, but with normal VHS tapes they run smoothly with no interruption and little issues with tracking lines. Playheads are all well maintained as well.

I've been looking into the Hama VHS-C adapter unit since I've seen it handles multiple brands fairly well. If anyone has any idea about these adapters, could use some insight!
