Should I take out a student loan
Hello everyone
I am starting university this year , and I am not sure if I should be taking a tuition fee (and/or maintenance fee) loan out or not
I've been working and have saved up £40k in cash , and my degree (Dentistry) is 5 years but the final year is already paid for by the NHS so the whole cost of the degree will be 9250*4= £37000 , so I'll have enough for the whole 5 years
The starting salary for a dentist is £38k , and goes up to around £100k after a few years , so I'll almost certainly pay off the whole balance after graduation , so my question is will I be better off taking the loan(s) out and putting it into a LISA for example , or not taking the loans out at all to avoid the interest?
Sorry , forgot to mention I'm living at home so won't need any money at all through uni
