unpopular opinion: i'm not loving the Goggins dead dad hamlet revenge storyline
I may very well change my opinion after it is all said and done, but this plotline is just not working for me. It feels disparate and banal so far. Walton Goggins and Aimee Wood are SO good and have such amazing chemistry. Their scenes together were a highlight of early episodes. But now they are separated, Chelsea doesn't really have anything going on aside from eating apples and Rick is across the country on a cliche revenge mission. I absolutely loved the monologue delivered by frank, as I think it encapsulated a lot of what The White Lotus is about, but I don't think it ties into Rick's story all that well thematically, it actually applies a lot more to the things going on at the white lotus than it does to rick's revenge path. Thus, It's just not really connecting so far. It is perhaps the storyline with the highest stakes, but it's the most boring to me compared to the others.
