I am sick of Surface devices. Any suggestion for something else?
I had a Surface Pro from 2017 in its lowest spec. At that time (2020) it cost me about 400€. I only use this device for OneNote in classes. Soon I had to discover, that its performance is miserable by design. I had to use it without any animations and additionall apps and features. Still, the battery life was pretty bad. It lasted me for only about 1-2 lectures. It also got really warm when connected to wifi.
Now it is falling apart:
- It started giving me mild electric shocks at the casing. This is deemed normal my support. There is no grounding and the case accumulates electric charge with almost no current. If I glue a cable to it and connect it to my home's ground, it goes away.
- Touch only works in the lower part of the screen. There is a lot of ghosting.
- The pen only works in a section of the screen.
- The keyboard only works from time to time.
- Battery life is pretty bad even though i always kept it at the 50% max charge setting.
- The cable started to fall apart at the proprietary connector. The shielding comes out where the hard plastic part is glued to the cable.
No reset of any kind could help this. Those problems are hardware issues. Microsoft support was only able to tell me to get a new model. I don't see myself spening another fortune on one of these ill-supported whastful short-lived products. I don't like their anti-repair design. Can you recomend me anything else, such as an android tablet for a low price?
Onenote on Android goes with fewer features, right?
