NYU medical licence for IMG

Question: Do I really need to complete three years of training in the U.S. if my residency program was not ACGME-accredited? How can I obtain an NYU license? Does anyone have knowledge of the NYU licensing process for IMGs from non-ACGME-accredited programs?
